Description 20 Million Syrians would Protest Against Assad Tomorrow if we Syrians totally believed it was safe to protest against Assad. The only people who would not protest against Assad would be one million Alawites and one million nervous Christians, who have both forgotten that our various sects all got along just fine before the Baathists and the Assad family seized power over Syria in a military coup over 4 decades ago. All of the pro Assad Rallies are fake as most of the people at the Assad rallies are forced to be there. I know as my school teachers used to take my whole school to the Assad rallies where we would be given banners and posters of Hafez to hold and made to yell pro regime chants. Likewise , our parents were forced to attend the Assad rallies or they would be in big trouble at work, which is why Assad rallies are usually held on days when school and work are in session so they have a captive guaranteed audience.
