Description POSTED WITH PERMISSION OF DON ROSS. Recorded at Trinity United Church in Cannington (Ontario, Canada) on Saturday, September 15, 2001. Tuning: FACFCF David Essig's comments on this tune: "I wrote the piece to honour the memory of my mother, Doris Hinkins, who came from the small town of Berkley Springs, West Virginia. I originally wrote it in DADGAD and recorded it that way on the first album I issued as a CD in 1988: Morning Calm. That's where Don Ross first encountered it I believe. He may have also heard me play it live, since we used to do some gigs together back in Ontario and at some Canadian festivals. Don transposed the piece into F tuning which enables him to play some interesting chord inversions. He also added a chord to the piece that's not in the original, but which I've now incorporated into my version as a tribute back to Don." See tommyemmanuel.com for the full post
