Description Boeing, the world's largest aircraft maker is leaving the city it has helped make the air capital of the world. After years working with politicians in Kansas to secure government contracts, Boeing has announced that they will close their iconic plant in the south central city of Wichita next year. The closing of the plant, which services the US President's plane, Air Force One, will mean the loss of 2000 jobs in the state's largest city. The jobs lost by the closing of the Boeing plant will represent a 10 per cent cut, as the city that over the decades went from 42000 to 29000 aviation industry jobs. Al Jazeera's John Hendren speaks to locals in Wichita about their sense of betrayal at the lost aviation jobs and the countless other related jobs that may go with those loss by the closing of the Boeing plant.
