While Target at first defended the donation, Target CEO Greg Steinhafel later apologized about it's intent for the donation (newsoxy.com/politics/target-apologizes-political-donation-14137.html) siting that it was intended to support Emmer's economic issues, such as job creation, and not his social issues, such as his hatred of homosexuals and non-whites.
