I recently bought Darkglass Electronics' Microtubes B3K pedal for bass since I've always loved overdrive/distortion and the B3K is truly great at that! It's extremely versatile and you can get almost any kind of distorted/overdriven/fuzz tones for your bass without losing bottom end (the main concern of bassists who like to use distortion). There are already some great demo videos showing samples of different settings for this pedal, so I just wanted to make a playalong showing one of the many tones you can get from the B3K. Muse's "Hysteria" bassline was recently voted in a poll by MusicRadar as the best bassline ever. While that's debatable, I think nobody can deny that it's a very well-crafted bassline. PLEASE NOTICE that I'm NOT trying to replicate the tone chosen by Chris Wolstenholme for this song. My version only tries to show a distorted bass tone that definitely works in my opinion. Something that I want to remark: As probably you already know, I like to have some finger/fret noise in my tone. That's why I always have the tone knob of my passive basses fully open.
